A dove with wings spread

Please Help!

I spend time on the blogs of every single one of my readers. I am very happy to say that you are an eclectic and interesting bunch. Many of you are even writers. If you’ve poked around my little corner of cyberspace then you’ve probably noticed the Writing Out Child Abuse badge down the right side of the site. If you haven’t, I’ve repeated it here.

WOCA is the brain child of J.S. Wayne, a wonderful author of erotica. JS tells his story best at the WOCA blog, so I won’t retell it here, but suffice it to say that JS got fed up one day and decided to do something about this horrible crime. That something is WOCA and an anthology of stories where all proceeds will be donated to a charity that works to eliminate child abuse.

Things are finally starting to percolate, but here’s the kicker. JS needs one more confirmed author for the anthology to prove we are serious — I’m one of those confirmed — to possible supporters. I’m asking you to step up and help. These don’t have to be erotica, they simply have to support the theme. The call is:

In this anthology, we’re looking for quality fiction tales which feature child abuse in some form as a central conflict. Whether it’s gritty urban fantasy, sexy erotic romance, or brutal contemporary, we want to see it! The heat and content levels are up to you, but we do require the following:
1) At no time should the abuse be portrayed in a positive or titillating manner.
2) The abuser must always get what’s coming to them, be it in court or as a result of “street justice,” but there must be some accounting for the abuser and closure for the victim.

I’ve read many of your works and believe you have what it takes to write a good piece. What do you say?

Amended 11/30: Even if you’re not a writer, I’m willing to bet  you’re connected at some level. Please re-blog, tweet, fb whatever … let’s test out how many degrees of separation there are between you and a willing author!
